Artist’s comment: Ray of Hope took place on the U.S/Mexican border in January 2018. The Artwork combines activism, performance and Land Art and exists as a protest against hard borders. The piece involved 178 residents of Agua Prieta Mexico and Douglas Arizona standing in a 1 kilometre line either side of the border wall. Each participant wore a mirrored mask with the division symbol painted on it. The masks reflected the sun to create a 1000m line of glittering light. The piece links in with great Land Art along the U.S/Mexican border.
